Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Pie
What You Need
- 1 9" Keebler® Ready Crust® Chocolate Pie Crust
- 4 cups chocolate mousse (see prep instructions below)
- 2 5.9 oz. instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups cold milk
- 1 Tbsp instant espresso powder
- 2 cups whipped topping
- 6 strawberries
- ½ cup chocolate, melted
- 3 Tbsp coarsely chopped hazelnuts
How To Make It
- 1. Prepare the chocolate mousse:
- - In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, vigorously whisk pudding mix packages with 4 cups of cold milk (DO NOT FOLLOW PACKAGE INSTRUCTIONS) and instant espresso powder; working quickly, fold in 2 cups of whipped topping, until mixture is a solid color and has started to thicken. Quickly follow next steps in the pie building instructions to ensure the filling sets in the crust.
- 2. Pour the chocolate mousse mixture into the Keebler® Ready Crust® Chocolate Pie Crust and smooth it out into an even, flat layer.
- 3. Place in the freezer for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- 4. To garnish, melt ½ cup of chocolate of your choice and dip the tips of 3 strawberries into the chocolate; allow chocolate to set.
- 5. Remove the pie from the freezer and drizzle the remaining chocolate in an artistic manner on the top of the pie, allowing the chocolate to set.
- 6. Cut remaining 3 whole, washed strawberries in half lengthwise.
- 7. Toast hazelnuts.
- 8. To assemble, arrange chocolate-dipped strawberries, cut strawberries and hazelnuts in a crescent shape along one side of the pie.
